Meet Verity

A five-minute conversation can reveal more than five pages of homework.

Verity gives each student a friendly, adaptive verbal assessment. Students explain concepts in their own words, talk through problems, defend their choices, and respond to new scenarios.

The conversation changes with every answer. When a student understands the material, Verity moves forward. When an answer is vague, memorized, or incomplete, Verity gently asks a deeper question.

It feels less like an exam and more like speaking with a thoughtful teacher who has time for every student.

How it works

From assignment to real understanding.

Step 01

Build the assessment

The instructor uploads an assignment, learning objectives, or grading rubric. Verity creates a conversational assessment designed around the concepts students should understand.

Step 02

Students talk it through

Each student completes a short verbal conversation. Verity asks them to explain ideas, solve variations, and defend their reasoning.

Step 03

Verity analyzes the evidence

Verity identifies demonstrated understanding, misconceptions, uncertainty, and moments that may require instructor review.

Step 04

Teachers see what matters

The instructor receives a clear report showing what each student understands, where they struggled, and which concepts need to be retaught.

Why it works

Copying the answer stops being the shortcut.

A student can paste a homework question into an AI tool and receive an answer in seconds. But that strategy becomes much less useful when they must explain the answer aloud, respond to follow-up questions, and apply the concept in a new situation.

The more important outcome is behavioral: students know they will have to talk through the material. Instead of spending a few minutes copying an answer, they have a reason to study, understand, and prepare.

Verity may flag for instructor review when a student

  • Appears to be reading a generated response
  • Repeatedly pauses before answering
  • Gives polished answers without being able to explain them
  • Cannot adapt when the problem changes

These signals are never treated as automatic proof of misconduct. They are presented alongside the transcript and assessment evidence so the teacher can make the final judgment.

Verity did not begin with a model or a market trend. It began in classrooms, tutoring sessions, office hours, and years of helping students work through ideas they initially thought they could never understand.

Anya has worked with children and students for seven years and served as a teaching assistant at Stanford three times. She has taught and tutored mathematics, computer science, and AI while also building advanced AI systems through research and startups.

Merve has tutored students herself and has spent years helping learners understand difficult material, build confidence, and move beyond memorization.

Together, we have seen the moment when a student genuinely understands something—and the difference between that moment and simply producing the correct answer.
